There are plenty of casino sites Ireland players can open in a browser, and on the homepage many of them look alike. The real differences sit in the cashier, the terms and the support desk. This guide shows what to compare and gives you a ten-minute audit to run on any site before you deposit.
Short answerThe best casino sites for Irish players pay out in euro without delays, publish clear terms, answer support questions properly and work well on a phone. As of October 2026 no online casino holds a GRAI gaming licence, so the casino sites Ireland players use are licensed in another country or not at all, and checking them yourself matters. Our pick for one account covering casino, live casino and sport is 22BET with +250% on your deposit; run the ten-minute audit on it, or on any site, before you play.

Casino sites Ireland: what you are really choosing between
Open ten casino sites side by side and you will see the same slot titles, the same live roulette studios and the same promise of a big welcome offer. That is because most online casino sites rent their games from the same studios. The lobby is rarely what separates a good site from a poor one. What differs is who runs the site, how its cashier treats your money and what its terms allow it to do when you ask for a withdrawal.
So when people search for the best casino sites, they are really asking three questions. Will this site pay me in euro without inventing reasons to delay? Will I understand the rules before I play? And will someone answer when something goes wrong? Everything on this page is built around those questions: the site types you will meet, the features worth comparing, and a ten-minute audit you can run on any casino website before you hand over a card number.
One point up front. Ireland is midway through a new licensing regime, and in October 2026 no online casino holds an Irish gaming licence. That changes how you should read every “licensed” claim on the casino sites Ireland players come across, and it is the reason the audit at the end of this page matters more here than it would in a market where every site answers to one regulator.
Irish casino sites and the law: where things stand in October 2026
The rulebook is the Gambling Regulation Act 2024, and the regulator it created is the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland, the GRAI, formally established on 5 March 2025. A commencement order signed on 3 February 2026 switched on licensing from 5 February 2026, and the first GRAI licences, for remote betting and betting intermediaries, have applied since 1 July 2026. In-person betting follows on 1 December 2026, when the old Revenue-issued bookmaker licences run out.
Casino gaming is a later stage. The GRAI says applications for the remaining licence types, including gaming, will open throughout 2027 and 2028. The Act already defines a Remote Gaming Licence for games offered online, but nobody holds one yet. In practice that means every one of the online casino sites Ireland players can reach today runs its casino under a licence from somewhere else, or under no licence at all.
The GRAI keeps a public register of licence holders. In mid-October 2026 its business-to-consumer filter showed 39 entries, all on the betting side, including companies such as Betway Limited, Kwiff Limited, Midnite Europe Limited and Bar-One Racing Limited. The duties in the Act bind an operator once it holds a GRAI licence, on a phased basis. Several of those duties are already live for licensees, while others are written into the Act but not yet commenced.

Three kinds of casino sites Irish players meet
Strip away the branding and casino gambling sites fall into three groups. The first is the big betting brands now on the GRAI register. Their sportsbook is licensed in Ireland. If such a brand runs a casino tab next to it, the GRAI licence does not cover that tab yet, because gaming licences have not opened, so read the footer and the terms to see which licence the casino side actually relies on.
The second group is international casino sites: operators based abroad that accept Irish players under a licence from another country, or with no licence stated. It includes long-running, well-organised brands as well as sites that vanish within a year. The player-protection duties in Irish law attach to GRAI licensees, so with an international site your safeguards come from its own terms, its foreign regulator if it has one, and your own checks.
The third group is the one to avoid: anonymous sites with no company name, copied terms and a licence badge that leads nowhere. They often look slick, offer an outsized bonus and push you to deposit quickly. Telling the second group from the third is most of the work when you compare irish casino sites, and the audit later on this page is designed to do it in a few minutes.

Where 22BET fits among online casino sites for Irish players
Our pick for an all-in-one account is 22BET, an international site from the second group. It is an offshore operator without a GRAI licence, and we say that plainly because it shapes how you should use it: read its terms, verify your account early and treat the first withdrawal as a test. What it does well is breadth. Casino, live casino and a sportsbook sit on one account, and the cashier lists a wide choice of payment methods, from debit cards to e-wallets and crypto.
New players get +250% on your deposit as the welcome bonus. The cap, the wagering and the eligible games are set in the bonus terms on the 22BET site, so read them before you opt in; a big percentage only helps if the conditions suit the way you play. Its player score stands at 5.0 from 2,748 reviews.
It will not suit everyone. If you want an operator bound by the Irish protections in the table above, your choice today is limited to the betting side of GRAI licensees. If you are comfortable with an international site and want one login for slots, live tables and sport, 22BET is the shortlist entry we would test first. Compare it with the alternatives in our guide to the best online casino in Ireland.
How we rank the best casino sites for Irish players
Rankings built on bonus size reward the sites that spend most on marketing. We weight things the other way round: money handling and honesty first, entertainment second. Each of the top casino sites we look at is scored on the criteria below, and a site that fails one of the heavy criteria does not get rescued by a big welcome offer.
Bonus value sits at the bottom on purpose. A generous offer with hard terms is worth less than a modest one you can actually clear, and a casino that pays slowly is a poor deal at any bonus level. When you read a best casino site Ireland list, or any ranking of top Ireland online casino sites, ask which of these factors the author checked. If the answer is only the headline offer, the list is an advert with a ranking attached.

The cashier: how the best Irish casino sites handle euro deposits
The cashier is the first feature to check because it tells you how the site thinks about your money. A good irish online casino site opens a euro balance by default, so you never pay conversion on deposits or withdrawals. It lists the minimum and maximum per method, says whether it charges fees, and offers the same methods for withdrawal as for deposit, or explains why not. Our overview of casino payment methods compares every option in detail.
Debit cards are the familiar choice, and a Visa or Mastercard debit card from your bank or Revolut is accepted at many casino sites; the cashier shows which card brands it takes. Credit cards are a different story. Since 5 February 2026 a GRAI licensee may not accept payment by credit card, and the ban extends to e-wallets topped up from a credit card. International sites are not bound by that section, but gambling on borrowed money is a bad idea under any licence.
Mobile wallets are now part of everyday banking here. Apple lists AIB, Bank of Ireland, Permanent TSB, Revolut and An Post among its Irish Apple Pay participants, so a casino that takes Apple Pay lets you deposit from most Irish current accounts with a fingerprint or a face scan. Revolut has been moving Irish residents onto IE IBANs through its Dublin branch, so a Revolut casino deposit now looks like any local bank payment. Bank transfers have sped up too: euro-area banks have had to send SEPA Instant payments since 9 October 2025, and Irish banks describe them as arriving within 10 seconds, at any hour of any day.
Deposit methods at casino sites for Irish players

How it works here
What to watch
Visa or Mastercard debit
Card from any Irish bank or Revolut; deposits usually land at once
Withdrawals to cards are not offered everywhere, so check the withdrawal list first
Apple Pay or Google Pay
Wallet linked to your debit card, confirmed by face, fingerprint or PIN
Withdrawals often go back by another method; check which one before you deposit
SEPA bank transfer
SEPA Instant payments in euro arrive in seconds, any day of the year
Verification of Payee checks the account name and returns match, close match or no match
paysafecard
16-digit voucher code, up to €50 per payment without an account, up to €1,000 with one
Cashing out needs a paysafecard account, and unused balances attract a monthly service fee
E-wallets such as Skrill or Neteller
A separate wallet you fund from your bank
Often excluded from welcome bonuses; read the bonus terms
Crypto
Coins sent from an exchange wallet to the casino address
The price moves between deposit and withdrawal, and selling crypto at a gain can bring a CGT bill
Casino sites with fast withdrawal: what speed really depends on
Every site claims fast payouts. The honest answer is that withdrawal speed depends on four things: the site's pending period, whether your account is verified, the method you use and the day of the week. A site might approve requests within hours on a Tuesday afternoon and sit on the same request over a bank holiday weekend. The casino sites fast withdrawal claims worth trusting come from sites that state processing times per method in their terms, not just on a banner.
Verification is the usual bottleneck. If you deposit, win and request a withdrawal before uploading ID, the payout waits for the document check. Do the check on day one, while nothing is at stake. Some sites also send the first withdrawal for manual review. That is normal once, but it should not happen every time.
Here is a realistic sequence at a decent site. You request €150 on a Thursday evening. The request sits in a pending window overnight, during which you could cancel it and play the money back, so do not. On Friday morning the payments team approves it. To an e-wallet it can arrive within the hour; to a debit card it can take a few working days, depending on the bank. If the same request is still pending the following Wednesday with no explanation, that tells you more about the site than any review.
For GRAI licensees the Act now says winnings must not be unreasonably withheld, a duty in force since 5 February 2026. International sites set their own rules, so the withdrawal section of their terms is your only contract. Our guide to fast withdrawal casino sites goes through method-by-method timings and the clauses that slow payouts down.
Best payout casino sites: RTP, caps and the small print
“Best payout” means two different things, and good sites are strong on both. The first is game returns: the RTP, or return to player, is the share of all money staked on a game that it pays back over a very long run. The second is payout handling: how much the site lets you withdraw, how quickly and on what conditions. A site with generous games and a hypothetical €500 weekly withdrawal cap is not one of the best payout casino sites, whatever the banner says.
RTP is easy to check and easy to misread. Open the info panel of any slot and the studio usually lists it. Say a game shows 96%. That does not mean you get €96 back from every €100. It means that across millions of spins the game keeps about 4% of what is staked. In one evening anything can happen; across a month of steady play, the house edge does its work. If you put €1,000 through that slot in total over several sessions, the expected cost is about €40, and your actual result will land a long way either side of that figure.
Two details catch people out. Some studios supply the same game in more than one RTP setting, so the figure quoted on a review site may not match the version a given casino runs; trust the info panel on the site itself. And the caps in the terms matter as much as the returns: daily, weekly or monthly withdrawal limits, a maximum win on bonus money, and rules on how large jackpot wins are paid. Our best payout casino guide covers both halves in more depth.
The game lobby: what a good casino website shows you
A large lobby is the easiest thing for a casino to buy, so the game count says little. What tells you about the operator is how the lobby is organised. Can you search by title and filter by studio? Does each game open an info panel with RTP, volatility notes and rules? Is there a demo mode for slots, so you can learn a bonus round before staking real money? Good sites make these things easy because they expect informed players to stay.
Look at the studio list too. The well-known slot and live studios supply most reputable casinos, and their games run from the studio's own servers with tested random number generation. An unfamiliar studio is not proof of anything bad, but a lobby full of copies of famous games with slightly altered names is a warning. So is a site where the info panels are empty or the rules page for a table game is missing. If slots are your main interest, our guide to online slots in Ireland covers volatility, bonus features and how to match games to your budget.
Search and filters: you can search by title and filter by studio, volatility or feature, rather than scrolling an endless wall of tiles.
Game info panel: RTP, rules and the paytable sit one tap away; a lobby where RTP is missing everywhere is hiding something.
Demo mode: free play for slots is available, so not every game demands a deposit before it opens.
Studios: recognised slot and live studios are named in the filters or footer, with no look-alike copies of famous games under altered names.
Table rules: every table has a rules page with payouts and side bets, not a missing link or a file that will not open.
Live lobby: table limits are shown before you sit down, not only after you join.
Live casino sites in Ireland: roulette, blackjack and baccarat tables
For many players the live lobby is the real reason to pick one site over another. A strong live casino site Ireland players rate has tables running at any hour, a spread of bet limits from small stakes to high, and streams that hold up on mobile data on a train out of Heuston. Live games come from professional studios with real dealers, so you are watching a physical wheel or card shoe, not an animation.
When you compare the best live casino sites, open three things before you sit down: the table limits, the rules panel and the side bets. Limits tell you whether a table suits your bankroll. The rules panel tells you which version is being dealt, since live blackjack and live roulette both come in variants with different house edges. Side bets are where much of the house edge on live tables hides, so treat them as a separate and more expensive game.
Live baccarat deserves a mention because it is simple, and live baccarat casino sites in Ireland usually run it next to the roulette and blackjack tables. You bet on Player, Banker or Tie; the drawing rules are fixed, so there is nothing to decide after the bet. The Tie bet pays well but comes up rarely, and in most versions it carries a far higher house edge than Banker or Player. See live casino for how each studio format works and our best live casino shortlist for where to play.
Roulette casino sites and blackjack casino sites: what to check
Among the roulette casino sites you will meet, the detail that matters most is the wheel. European and French roulette use a single zero; American roulette adds a double zero, which roughly doubles the house edge on most bets. A good site labels its tables clearly and offers single-zero versions in both RNG and live form. French tables with the la partage rule return half of an even-money stake when the ball lands on zero, which trims the edge further on those bets.
Blackjack sites differ more than most players realise, and the best live blackjack casino sites in Ireland show the full rules before you sit down. The rules panel lists how many decks are in the shoe, whether the dealer stands or hits on soft 17, when you can double, whether you can split and resplit, and what a natural blackjack pays. Each rule nudges the house edge one way or the other. Watch the payout on a natural most closely: tables that pay a reduced rate cost you more over time than any single rule tweak in your favour.
If you mainly play tables, the lobby filters matter more than the slot count. Look for a site that lets you sort live and RNG tables by game and limit. For a game-by-game view of the best roulette casino sites and the best blackjack casino sites, see our guides to the best roulette sites and the best blackjack sites, which cover the variants worth playing and the side bets worth skipping.
Mobile casino sites: browser, app and what to test on your phone
Plenty of players now deposit and play on a phone, so a site that only works properly on a laptop fails a basic test. Mobile casino sites come in two forms: a browser version that adapts to your screen, and a downloadable app. A well-built browser site is enough for most people. It updates itself, takes no storage and can sit on your home screen like an app. Native apps add push notifications and face login, which some players like and others find too tempting.
Test the parts that break first on small screens. Can you open the cashier, choose a method and see the limits without zooming? Does the verification page let you photograph your ID with the phone camera, or does it insist on a file from a computer? Do live tables switch to a portrait layout with readable bet buttons? And does the site keep you logged in safely, with face or fingerprint login, rather than nudging you to save a password in the browser?
Pay attention to data use as well. Live dealer streams at the highest quality setting can eat through a mobile allowance quickly, so look for a quality toggle. Our mobile casino guide goes further, including how Apple Pay and Google Pay deposits work from the phone and which features the best mobile casino sites get right.
Customer support: the two-question test
Support quality is easy to judge and hard to fake. Open live chat before you register and ask two specific questions: “How long does a debit card withdrawal take after approval?” and “Which documents do you need to verify an Irish account?” A good agent answers both in plain terms within a few minutes: a time range per method, and a list such as photo ID plus proof of address dated within a set period. A poor one pastes a generic paragraph, sends you to the FAQ or asks you to register first.
Note the hours too. Many international sites run chat around the clock; others staff it only during office hours in a different time zone, which matters if your problem arrives late on a Saturday night. Email support should give you a ticket number and a written answer you can keep. Find where the complaints procedure is published. GRAI licensees must follow the Complaints Procedures Regulations 2026; with an international site, its own complaints policy and the regulator named in its footer are your route.
The answer arrives in minutes and addresses the question you asked
Withdrawal times are given per method rather than “usually fast”
The verification document list is clear and specific
You can have the chat transcript emailed to you
A written complaints procedure is easy to find from the help page
Terms and conditions: the clauses worth reading before you deposit
Nobody reads the full terms, and casinos know it. You do not need to. Five clauses decide most complaints, and on a decent casino website you can find them with your browser's find-on-page tool in a couple of minutes. Search for “withdraw”, “bonus”, “verification”, “inactive” and “close”, then read the paragraphs that come up.
Pay special attention to anything that lets the site void winnings for vague reasons such as “irregular play” without defining it. Sensible terms say what is not allowed, for example betting patterns that exploit a bonus, and leave normal play alone. GRAI licensees now have requirements on closing accounts on request; international sites set their own policy, and their terms are what counts.

Casino bonuses: reading the offer instead of the banner
Welcome offers on real money casino sites look generous because the headline is the only number designed for you to notice. The value sits in the conditions. Take a hypothetical offer at some other site: a 100% match up to €100 with 35x wagering on the bonus. You deposit €50 and get €50 in bonus money. To release it you must stake 35 × €50 = €1,750. On slots returning 96% over the long run, the expected cost of that much play is about €70, which is more than the bonus itself.
That does not make every bonus a bad deal. It means the wagering multiple, the games that count, the maximum bet while wagering and the time limit decide whether an offer suits you. Short expiry dates and low maximum bets make an offer harder to clear; generous game weighting makes it easier. Our casino bonus guide works through more examples, including free spins and cashback.
The Act includes a ban on inducements such as bonuses, but that section has not been commenced, so welcome offers remain common in October 2026. At 22BET the welcome offer is +250% on your deposit. Read the cap, the wagering and the eligible games in its bonus terms before you opt in, and skip any bonus whose conditions would push you to deposit or stake more than you planned.
Verification, age checks and account security
Every legitimate site checks who you are and that you are an adult. Under the Act a child is anyone under 18, GRAI licensees must keep children out of play, and dedicated Verification of Identity and Age Regulations for licensees were made in 2026. International sites run their own know-your-customer checks, usually photo ID plus proof of address, and sometimes proof that you own the card or wallet you deposit from.
The checks are tedious, but they protect you as well as the operator: they make it harder for someone else to open an account in your name or withdraw your balance. The practical rule is simple. Verify on the day you register, before you deposit much, so the first withdrawal is not held up. Upload clear photos with all four corners visible, and use a recent utility bill or bank statement whose address matches the one on your account.
Then secure the account. Use a unique password, switch on two-factor login if the site offers it, and never share a one-time code with anyone. When you pay by bank transfer, Verification of Payee now checks the payee name against the IBAN before the money leaves and returns a match, close match or no match result, which helps catch typos and fake payment requests. A site with no age or identity checks at all is not doing you a favour; it is a sign it will make up the rules when you ask for your money.
Responsible gambling tools a good casino site gives you
A site that wants long-term customers makes it easy to stay in control. Look for deposit limits you can set yourself by day, week or month, loss and session limits, a reality check that shows how long you have been playing, a short time-out and full self-exclusion. For GRAI licensees, offering a monetary limit has been a legal duty since 5 February 2026: once set, the limit cannot be removed or raised during its period, and money deposited over it must be returned within 7 days. International sites decide for themselves, so check the safer gambling page before you register.
Ireland does not yet have a single self-exclusion scheme. The National Gambling Exclusion Register is in the Act but not commenced, so exclusion still happens site by site. Your bank can add a second layer: AIB and Bank of Ireland can set up a gambling block over the phone, and Revolut and PTSB let you switch one on in the app. If gambling has stopped being fun, the HSE Drugs and Alcohol Helpline on 1800 459 459 is free, and our responsible gambling page lists every Irish support service.
The ten-minute casino site audit
This is the routine we run on every site before it goes near a shortlist. You need a phone or laptop, a timer and no money in the account yet. Each step has a rough time budget, and if a site fails a step outright, stop the audit and move on. Ten minutes spent here can save you a month of chasing a withdrawal.
Minute 1: read the footerFind the operating company's full name, its registered address and the licence it claims. Note all three. A missing company name ends the audit there and then.
Minute 2: check the licence claimLook for a licence number and the regulator's name, then see whether the terms name the same company. A badge with no number, or terms that name a different company from the footer, is a fail.
Minutes 3–4: search the withdrawal termsFind processing times, weekly or monthly caps, fees and the pending period. Write the cap down; if it is lower than a sum you could realistically win, look elsewhere.
Minute 5: read the bonus termsFind the wagering multiple, the maximum bet while wagering, game weighting and the expiry date. If you cannot find them within a minute, assume they are unfriendly.
Minute 6: open the cashier or payments pageMany sites show their payment options before you register. Check for a euro balance, debit cards, the method you actually use and that same method on the withdrawal side.
Minutes 7–8: run the support testAsk live chat the two questions from the support section: withdrawal time per method and the documents needed to verify an Irish account. Judge both the speed and the precision of the answers.
Minute 9: open two gamesOpen one slot and one live table. Check the info panel for RTP and rules, and the table limits before you sit down. Do it on your phone if that is where you will play.
Minute 10: find the safer gambling toolsConfirm you can set deposit limits and a time-out yourself, without emailing support. A site that hides these tools is telling you what it expects from you.
Red flags: casino sites online to close straight away
Some warning signs are so reliable that one is enough. If you spot any of these while comparing online casino websites, close the tab and do not deposit, however good the offer looks. For a fuller checklist on spotting rogue operators, see our guide to choosing a safe online casino.
The “release fee” trick deserves a word of its own. Legitimate casinos never ask you to send more money so that they can pay you. Any fee should come out of the withdrawal itself and be stated in the terms in advance. If a site, or someone claiming to speak for it, asks for a payment before releasing your winnings, stop all contact and tell your bank.
No operating company or address anywhere on the site
A licence badge that is only an image, with no number and no regulator named
Terms that mention a different brand name, a sign they were copied from another site
A welcome bonus far larger than anything else on the market, with wagering hidden or missing
Countdown timers and pop-ups pushing you to deposit within minutes
Withdrawal caps that are tiny compared with the deposit limits
A clause letting the casino cancel winnings “at its sole discretion”
Support that cannot answer basic questions about withdrawals or verification
Requests to pay a “release fee” or “tax” before a withdrawal can be processed
No safer gambling tools, or tools that only work by emailing support
International casino sites: the honest pros and cons
Because no online casino holds a GRAI gaming licence yet, any dedicated casino brand you play with in Ireland is either an international site or the casino tab of a betting brand. That is simply how the market looks in 2026. Here is what you gain and what you give up with an international site, compared with playing on the betting side of a GRAI licensee.
Matching the casino site to the way you play
The best casino site for one player is the wrong one for another. A slots player who deposits €20 on a Friday night needs something different from someone who plays live blackjack at higher stakes. Decide what you value most, then weight the audit to match.
Whatever your profile, the heavy criteria from our ranking table do not change. A site that pays slowly or hides its operator is wrong for everyone, however well it suits your favourite game.
Slots most nights: a large, well-filtered lobby with demo mode and RTP in every info panel, plus a deposit limit you set once and leave alone.
Live tables: a live lobby running at all hours, clear limits, single-zero roulette and blackjack rules shown before you sit.
Small stakes: low minimum deposits per method and no withdrawal fees that swallow a small win.
High stakes: high weekly and monthly withdrawal caps, written processing times and a named contact for large payouts.
Phone only: a browser site or app where the cashier, the ID upload and live tables all work in portrait mode.
Crypto users: clear lists of coins and networks, a stated withdrawal fee policy and a plan for the CGT side of selling coins.
Sport and casino together: one account for both, which is where all-in-one sites such as 22BET fit.
Real money casino sites: your first session, step by step
Even the best real money casino sites deserve a test run. Once a site has passed the audit, the first real-money session is still a test. Treat it that way, keep the stakes small until the site has paid you once, and write down what happens at each stage.
Register with your real detailsUse your name, address and date of birth exactly as they appear on your ID. Mismatches are a common cause of withdrawal delays.
Set limits before the first depositChoose a weekly deposit limit you would be comfortable losing in full, and switch on a session reminder.
Verify straight awayUpload photo ID and proof of address on day one, so the checks are finished before you need them.

Tax on casino winnings in Ireland
Revenue says you do not need to pay Capital Gains Tax on gains from betting, lottery wins, prize bonds or sweepstakes. The betting duty you may have heard of is paid by operators, not players: 2% on remote bets, a rate that Budget 2027 left unchanged. If gambling is your trade rather than a pastime, your position is a question for a tax adviser rather than a casino guide.
Crypto is where people get caught. The tax point there is the coins, not the game: Revenue treats a disposal of crypto-assets as a CGT event, with an annual personal exemption on the first €1,270 of gains, and from 7 October 2026 the standard CGT rate is 31%. So if you deposit coins, withdraw them and later sell them for more than you paid, keep a record of every purchase, transfer and sale.
Top online casino sites in Ireland: build a shortlist of three
You do not need ten accounts. Two or three well-chosen sites cover almost every need: one all-rounder with casino, live casino and sport, one specialist for the games you play most, and a spare in case a site changes its terms. Run the audit on each, note the results and revisit them every few months, because operators change owners, cashiers and bonus rules more often than their homepages suggest.
If you want a starting point, test 22BET as the all-rounder, with its +250% on your deposit, and pick a specialist for your favourite game from our shortlists. Keep a simple note of each site's withdrawal cap, how long your test withdrawal took and how support answered. After a month you will know more about your own shortlist of casino sites Ireland can offer than any ranking can tell you.
Frequently asked questions
What are the best casino sites in Ireland?
The best casino sites in Ireland pay out promptly in euro, name their operator, publish clear withdrawal and bonus terms, offer deposit limits and answer support questions properly. Our pick for an all-in-one account is 22BET, with +250% on your deposit, but run the ten-minute audit on any site before you deposit.
Are online casino sites legal in Ireland?
Ireland is moving to a new system under the Gambling Regulation Act 2024. The GRAI has licensed online betting since 1 July 2026 and plans to open gaming licences throughout 2027 and 2028, so no online casino holds a GRAI gaming licence yet. Casino sites that take Irish players today are licensed in other countries or not at all, which is why checking the operator matters.
Is there an Irish casino site with a GRAI licence?
Not for casino games, as of October 2026. The GRAI register lists betting licence holders, and gaming licence applications are due to open throughout 2027 and 2028. If a betting brand on the register runs a casino tab, those games are not covered by a GRAI gaming licence.
Which casino sites have the fastest withdrawals?
Speed depends on verification, the method and the site's pending period more than on the brand. E-wallets and instant bank transfers are usually quickest once the casino approves the request. Verify your account on day one and test a small withdrawal before trusting any site with a larger balance.
What is the best live casino site in Ireland?
Look for live tables running at all hours, clear limits from low to high stakes, single-zero roulette, blackjack rules shown before you sit, and streams that hold up on mobile data. All-in-one sites such as 22BET combine a live lobby with slots and sport on one account.
What should I look for in roulette casino sites in Ireland?
Single-zero European or French wheels, clearly labelled tables, both live and RNG versions, and table limits that fit your stake. Skip double-zero American tables unless you accept the higher house edge that comes with them.
Which are the best blackjack casino sites for Irish players?
The ones that show the full rules before you sit down: the number of decks, the dealer rule on soft 17, doubling and splitting options and the payout on a natural blackjack. Live blackjack seats fill up at busy times, so a site with plenty of tables helps.
Can I use a credit card at Irish casino sites?
GRAI licensees have been banned from accepting credit cards, including e-wallets loaded from a credit card, since 5 February 2026. International sites are not bound by that rule, but playing with borrowed money is a bad idea anywhere. Use a debit card, a bank transfer or an e-wallet funded from your own account.
Do I pay tax on casino winnings in Ireland?
Revenue says you do not pay Capital Gains Tax on gains from betting, lottery wins, prize bonds or sweepstakes. Crypto is different: selling coins at a gain can bring a CGT bill, now at 31% above the €1,270 annual exemption. If gambling is your profession, take advice.
What is the best casino site for mobile?
One where the cashier, the ID upload and live tables all work in portrait mode on your phone, with face or fingerprint login and Apple Pay or Google Pay if you use them. For most players a good browser site is as useful as an app.
How can I tell if a casino website is legit?
Check for a named operating company and address, a licence claim with a number and a regulator, terms that name the same company, clear withdrawal rules and responsive support. A site that fails any of these, or asks for a fee before paying out, is not worth the risk.
How old do you have to be to play at casino sites in Ireland?
18. The Gambling Regulation Act 2024 defines a child as anyone under 18, GRAI licensees must keep children from playing, and every reputable site checks your age and identity before it pays out.
What are the best online casino sites for real money?
The top real money casino sites are the ones that pass a payout test, not the ones with the biggest banner. Look for a named operator, euro accounts, withdrawal caps you can live with and fast, specific answers from support. Then deposit a small amount, play, and withdraw part of it before you commit more.
