A bank transfer casino takes euro straight from your current account, with no card or e-wallet in between, and pays winnings back to an IBAN in your name. Since 2025 SEPA Instant and the payee name check have made the method far quicker and safer than its old reputation. This guide covers deposits, references, instant transfers, payouts and the mistakes that leave money unmatched.
Short answerA bank transfer casino accepts a SEPA payment from your IBAN, either one you send yourself with the casino's reference or one you approve in a pay-by-bank flow. SEPA Instant reaches the casino's account within 10 seconds at any hour and may not cost more than a standard transfer, and your bank now checks the payee name before you send. Take the details only from the logged-in cashier, and expect payouts to go back to an account in your own name.

Bank transfer casino basics: paying a casino from your IBAN
A bank transfer casino is an online casino that accepts money sent straight from your bank account, with no card or wallet in between. In Ireland that almost always means a SEPA credit transfer in euro: you send money from your IBAN to the casino's account, or approve a transfer the casino has prepared for you, and the deposit is matched to your player account. Withdrawals travel the same way in reverse, to an IBAN in your name.
Two very different experiences hide behind the label. With a manual transfer you open your banking app, enter the casino's IBAN, beneficiary name, amount and reference, and press send. With a pay-by-bank flow the cashier builds the payment and you only approve it in your bank. Both draw on the same current account; the difference is who types the details and how quickly the casino knows the money is on its way.
Why bother when a Visa debit card is quicker to set up? Three reasons come up again and again. Bank transfers handle larger amounts comfortably within your bank's own limits, they leave a clean record on your statement, and they use money you already have, which matters because section 165 of the Gambling Regulation Act 2024 has banned GRAI licensees from taking credit card payments since 5 February 2026. The weak points are just as real: a transfer you push yourself is hard to reverse, and a wrong reference can leave a deposit unmatched.
One thing a payment method never tells you is who runs the casino. No online casino holds a GRAI licence in October 2026, because gaming licence applications open throughout 2027 and 2028, so check the operator before you send anything, whichever bank transfer casino you pick.
Bank transfer, SEPA Instant, open banking, wire or direct debit?
At least five different payments go by the name “bank transfer” in casino cashiers, and they behave differently on speed, risk and who controls the money. Knowing which one you are looking at removes most of the confusion players run into. The table compares them in general terms; the exact options depend on the casino and on your bank.
For most Irish players the practical choice is between SEPA Instant, where the casino accepts it, and a pay-by-bank flow. Standard SEPA still works but lands more slowly, international wires are a last resort, and direct debit is rare in casino cashiers for reasons covered further down.

SEPA Instant for casino deposits: the dates, the speed and the fee rule
Bank transfers were the slow lane of casino payments until the EU Instant Payments Regulation, Regulation (EU) 2024/886. It required payment providers in euro countries to be able to receive instant euro credit transfers by 9 January 2025 and to send them by 9 October 2025. The Banking & Payments Federation Ireland describes SEPA Instant as a euro transfer that arrives within 10 seconds, 24 hours a day, any day of the year.
For a casino deposit that changes the rhythm completely. A standard SEPA transfer sent on a Friday evening may wait for the next banking day; an instant one arrives while you are still looking at the screen. Whether your casino balance updates as quickly is a separate question, covered in the instant section below, but the bank leg is no longer the bottleneck when both sides support instant payments.
The regulation also settles the fee question. A provider may not charge more for an instant credit transfer than for a standard transfer of the same type. So if your bank sends ordinary SEPA transfers free on your account, it cannot charge you for sending the same payment instantly; if it charges for a standard transfer, the instant price cannot be higher. Look at your bank's fee schedule once and you know both numbers.
Fees can still appear elsewhere in the chain. The casino may charge for the method, which the cashier should show before you confirm, and a transfer in another currency adds conversion costs. Keep the casino account in euro and the whole trip stays inside the euro payment system.

Verification of Payee: the name check before you pay a casino
Since 9 October 2025, banks in the euro area check the payee's name against the IBAN before a transfer leaves your account. BPFI explains that the check covers both SEPA Instant and standard SEPA transfers and returns one of three answers: match, close match or no match. For casino payments, where you are often typing details you have never used before, it is the most useful safety feature bank transfers have gained in years.
Casino transfers produce more close matches and no matches than most payments, and there is often an innocent reason. The brand on the casino's homepage is frequently not the legal name on the receiving account, because many operators collect deposits through a payments company or a group entity with a different name. So a no match does not prove fraud, and a match does not prove the casino is any good. What the check tells you is whether the account belongs to the name you were given.
The rule that keeps you safe is simple: the deposit instructions should name the beneficiary exactly as your bank expects it. Take the details only from the cashier inside your logged-in casino account, never from an email, a text or a chat message that arrived unprompted. If the check returns no match, stop, ask the casino's live chat to confirm the beneficiary name in writing and compare it with the payments page. If anything still looks off, do not send.

Irish IBANs, Revolut's IE IBAN and the account you pay from
Irish-issued IBANs start with IE, whether the account sits at AIB, Bank of Ireland, PTSB, An Post Money or a credit union. That IBAN is what a casino needs for a payout and what shows as the sender on your deposit. AIB, for one, publishes its own pages on SEPA Instant Payments and Verification of Payee, so it is worth reading your bank's version before your first casino transfer.
Revolut needs its own note because so many Irish players bank there. Revolut Bank UAB has set up an Irish branch at 2 Dublin Landings, North Dock, Dublin 1, and Irish-resident customers are being moved to an IE IBAN. The older LT IBAN keeps working for a time for incoming payments and direct debits, which is exactly where a casino payout can go wrong later: if the casino still holds the LT number, update your payout details to the IE IBAN before you withdraw. Our Revolut casino guide covers the card and app routes.
Two habits matter more than the bank you choose. Send from an account in your own name, because casinos match the sender to the registered player and usually return payments from anyone else. And keep gambling money apart from bills if your bank lets you open a second account: when the casino budget lives in its own account, a transfer can never dip into the rent by accident.
AIB, Bank of Ireland and PTSB: standard IE IBANs; look in your app for the instant option and the payee check screen.
An Post Money and credit unions: euro accounts with IBANs; confirm how instant sending appears on your account.
Revolut: give casinos the IE IBAN; the LT IBAN is for a transition period only.
Joint and business accounts: keep them out of gambling, since the sender name must match your casino account.
How to make a casino bank transfer deposit, step by step
A manual casino bank transfer deposit takes a couple of minutes, and nearly every problem comes from one of three details: the beneficiary name, the IBAN or the reference. Follow the steps in this order and keep the confirmation until the money shows in your balance.
Amounts deserve a second look. If the cashier generated a payment for a set sum, send exactly that, because some casinos match by amount and reference together. If you want to deposit more, start a new request in the cashier instead of adding to the transfer. And send euro from a euro account; a payment in sterling from a UK account turns a simple transfer into a currency exchange.
Choose bank transfer in the cashierLog in, open Deposit and select bank transfer, SEPA or instant bank transfer. Enter the amount; the casino generates payment details for your account.
Copy the details from the cashierUse the copy buttons for the IBAN, beneficiary name and reference rather than retyping them. Ignore details sent by email or chat.
Create the payment in your banking appPaste the details, choose your euro current account and pick the instant option if your app offers a choice.
Read the payee checkYour bank shows match, close match or no match. Continue only when the name agrees with the cashier's instructions.
Put the reference in the right fieldUse the reference or remittance field, not a personal note. It is how the casino finds your deposit.
Confirm and keep the receiptApprove in the app, screenshot the confirmation and note the time, in case support needs to trace the payment.
Instant bank transfer casino: when a deposit is really instant
An instant bank transfer casino promises that your money shows up as fast as a card payment. Whether it does depends on two separate clocks. The bank clock is the transfer itself: with SEPA Instant, the money reaches the casino's account within 10 seconds. The casino clock is how quickly the operator notices the payment and credits your balance, and that can be automatic, batch-based or manual.
Casinos that match incoming transfers automatically by reference can credit an instant payment almost at once. Those that check statements in batches, or by hand, can take hours even when the bank leg took seconds, and a standard SEPA transfer adds banking-day timing on top. Pay-by-bank flows usually feel fastest of all, because the casino receives confirmation the moment you approve. That is why an online casino with instant bank transfer in the cashier often means an open banking provider rather than a plain IBAN.
Picture a hypothetical Friday. You send €100 at 21:00. By SEPA Instant to a casino with automatic matching, you are playing before the kettle boils. By SEPA Instant to a casino that reconciles by hand during office hours, the money sits in its account until someone checks. By standard SEPA, the transfer itself may wait for the next banking day. Same bank, same amount, three very different evenings.
So before you trust a fast bank transfer casino label, look for two lines on the payments page: whether the casino accepts instant transfers, and whether bank deposits are credited automatically. If neither is stated, ask live chat before you send. Our instant withdrawal casino guide applies the same two-clock test to payouts.
Open banking casino and direct debit casino: what the labels mean
“Online banking”, “instant banking”, “pay by bank” and “open banking” all describe roughly the same thing in a casino cashier: a payment provider connects to your bank with your permission, prepares a transfer to the casino and asks you to approve it inside your own banking login. You never type an IBAN or a reference, which removes the most common bank transfer mistakes. Trustly is one provider name you may see there, and our Trustly casino guide walks through that flow screen by screen.
The software behind an open banking casino cashier comes from the payment provider, not the casino, which is why the same bank list and approval screens turn up on unrelated sites. Your checks stay the same as for any bank payment: start only from the cashier inside your account, read the amount and the payee on your bank's own screen, and cancel if either looks wrong.
Direct debit is a different animal. A SEPA Direct Debit lets a merchant collect money from your account under a mandate you sign once, which suits a phone bill or a gym membership. It suits gambling badly, because a standing permission to take money from your account sits uneasily with a fixed budget, and casinos rarely offer it for deposits. People searching for a direct debit casino usually mean a pay-by-bank flow where each payment is approved separately, and that is the version to look for.
Bank wire transfer casino payments outside the SEPA area
Some offshore casinos bank outside the euro payment system, or ask for a wire in dollars or another currency. A bank wire transfer casino payment in that sense is an international transfer: it can pass through one or more banks in the middle, each adding time and sometimes a charge, and the money may be converted at both ends. The speed and price rules of SEPA Instant do not apply.
The payee name check is built for transfers inside the EU timetable. In the euro area it has applied since 9 October 2025; for non-euro EU countries the deadline is 9 July 2027, and for accounts outside the EU it depends entirely on the banks involved. In plain terms, a wire to a casino's account abroad gives you less protection against a wrong or fake beneficiary than a SEPA transfer inside the euro area.
So the best wire transfer online casino is usually one that does not need a wire. If a cashier offers only international transfers in another currency, work out the total cost from your bank's fee schedule, ask how withdrawals are paid, and consider whether a euro method at a different site is the simpler answer. Our casino payment methods guide compares the alternatives.
Casino bank transfer withdrawal: getting winnings back to your IBAN
Withdrawals are where bank transfer earns its keep. Card payouts are not offered everywhere, a prepaid voucher code has nowhere to receive a payout, and an IBAN in your name accepts whatever the casino is willing to send. Many casinos fall back on a bank payout when the deposit method cannot be paid back, so even card and voucher players end up giving an IBAN at some point.
A casino bank transfer withdrawal has two clocks, just like a deposit. The casino's clock, meaning the pending period, identity checks and bonus status, is usually the longer one. The bank's clock can be very short now: since 9 January 2025 your Irish bank must be able to receive instant euro transfers, so if the casino's bank sends instantly, the money can arrive within 10 seconds of release. A standard SEPA payout runs on banking days. Our fast withdrawal casino guide explains how to compare pending times before you sign up.
Irish law has a rule for slow payers: section 155 of the 2024 Act, in force since 5 February 2026, says a licensee must not unreasonably withhold winnings. It binds GRAI licensees only, and no online casino is one yet, so the casino's own terms on maximum withdrawals, pending times and documents decide what happens. Read them before your first deposit, not after a good night.

Online casino deposit with a bank account: six mistakes that cost time
Most bank transfer problems at casinos are self-inflicted, and all of them are easy to avoid once you have seen them. The table lists six common ones, with the fix for each. Every one of them ends the same way: a support ticket, a wait, and a deposit that is not in your balance when you wanted to play.
If you have already made one of these mistakes, act quickly. Send support the date, time, amount, the IBAN you paid and a screenshot of the confirmation. For a payment to the wrong account, contact your own bank at once and ask about a recall; the sooner it starts, the better the chance the receiving bank cooperates.

Bank transfer casino bonus offers and no deposit deals
Bank deposits turn up on excluded-methods lists now and then, especially at casinos that treat all manual payments as one group, so read the list in the promotion terms before you send. Timing can cost you a bonus too. Some offers need the deposit credited within a set period after you opt in, and a standard transfer sent at the last minute can arrive after the window closes. An instant transfer, or a pay-by-bank deposit, removes that risk.
The bonus maths do not change with the method. Say a casino offers 200% on a €25 deposit with 30x wagering on the bonus. You receive €50 of bonus money and must stake €1,500 before it turns into cash; at €0.50 a spin that is 3,000 spins. This is an invented example, not any operator's terms, and our casino bonus guide explains wagering, game weighting and maximum bets.
Searches for an instant bank transfer casino no deposit bonus mix two things. A no deposit bonus needs no payment to claim, so the method does not matter at the start. It matters at cash-out: many casinos want a verified payment method, or a small deposit, before they release winnings from free play, and a bank account in your own name is the cleanest way to meet that rule. Our no deposit bonus guide covers caps and wagering.
At our pick, 22BET, the welcome offer is +250% on your deposit. Check the bonus terms on its site to see whether a bank deposit qualifies before you opt in.
Best bank transfer casino sites: what to check, and our pick
A list of casino sites that accept bank transfer is easy to compile and close to useless, because cashiers change by country. The checks below separate the best bank transfer casino sites from the rest, and you can run every one of them before you deposit.
Measured against that list, our pick for Irish players is 22BET. Its cashier offers a wide range of methods, including cards, e-wallets and crypto, and casino, live casino and sportsbook share one account. Players rate it 5.0 from 2,748 reviews, and new players get +250% on your deposit.
We do not claim that 22BET shows a bank transfer option to every Irish account, because method lists change by country and over time. Register, open the cashier and check both the deposit and withdrawal tabs. It is an offshore operator without a GRAI licence, so start with a small deposit and a small withdrawal before you move larger sums.
Bank transfer appears in both the deposit and withdrawal tabs for an Irish account in euro.
The cashier generates your own reference and shows the beneficiary name your bank will check.
The payments page says whether instant transfers are accepted and credited automatically.
Minimums, maximums and any casino-side fee are shown before you confirm.
Withdrawal terms state pending times, maximums and the documents needed.
The operator names its company, and live chat can trace a payment by reference.
Bank transfer safety and keeping control
A bank transfer you send yourself is close to handing over cash. There is no card chargeback behind it, and recalling a payment depends on the receiving bank's cooperation. Three rules cover most of the risk: details only from the cashier, a payee check you actually read, and no transfer to an account suggested by a stranger in a chat window or a social media message about bonuses. Our safe online casino guide has the wider checklist.
Fast transfers also make it easy to top up on impulse. If you want a firm brake, Extern Problem Gambling notes that AIB and Bank of Ireland can switch on a gambling block for you, while Revolut and PTSB offer one in the app; ask whether it covers transfers to casino accounts as well as card payments. Set a deposit limit in each casino account too. If gambling stops being fun, our responsible gambling page lists free Irish support, including the HSE helpline on 1800 459 459.
Frequently asked questions
What is a bank transfer casino?
It is an online casino that accepts payments straight from your bank account, usually as a SEPA transfer in euro. You either send the money yourself using the IBAN and reference from the cashier, or approve a transfer the casino prepares through a pay-by-bank flow. Payouts go back to an IBAN in your name.
Which casino sites accept bank transfer in Ireland?
Many international casinos open to Irish players list bank transfer, but cashiers change by country, so register with Ireland and euro selected and look at both the deposit and withdrawal tabs. No online casino holds a GRAI licence as of October 2026, so check who operates the site as well.
How long does a casino bank transfer deposit take?
A SEPA Instant transfer reaches the casino's account within 10 seconds, at any hour. Your balance updates when the casino matches the payment, which is almost immediate with automatic matching and slower where payments are checked by hand. A standard SEPA transfer runs on banking days.
Do instant bank transfers to a casino cost extra?
Your bank cannot charge more for an instant euro transfer than for a standard transfer of the same type, under the EU Instant Payments Regulation. The casino may set its own fee for the method, which should be shown in the cashier, and payments in another currency add conversion costs.
What does Verification of Payee mean for casino payments?
Since 9 October 2025, your bank checks the payee name against the IBAN before a euro transfer leaves and tells you whether it is a match, a close match or no match. It helps you spot a wrong or fake beneficiary before the money goes.
What should I do if the payee check says no match?
Stop before sending. Casinos often collect through a payments company with a different name, so ask live chat to confirm the beneficiary name in writing and compare it with the cashier's instructions. If the details came from an email or message rather than the cashier, do not use them.
Can I withdraw casino winnings by bank transfer?
Usually, yes. Bank transfer is the payout route many casinos fall back on, and the money goes to an IBAN in your own name after the casino's checks. Verify your account early, finish any bonus wagering and make sure the casino holds your current IBAN.
Is there a direct debit casino?
Casinos rarely collect deposits by SEPA Direct Debit, and a standing mandate to take money from your account is a poor fit for a gambling budget. What most people mean is a pay-by-bank flow, where you approve each payment separately in your banking app.
What is an open banking casino?
It is a casino whose cashier uses an open banking provider to prepare a transfer from your account, which you approve inside your own bank's login. You never share your banking password with the casino or type an IBAN. Our Trustly guide walks through one version of it.
Can I use my Revolut account for a casino bank transfer?
Yes, if the casino accepts SEPA transfers. Revolut's Irish branch gives Irish residents an IE IBAN; use it for payout details, because the older LT IBAN works only for a transition period. Send from an account in your own name so it matches your casino profile.
Can I deposit at a casino by bank transfer without a card?
Yes. A bank transfer needs only your IBAN and banking app, so it suits players who would rather not store card details anywhere. Keep in mind that the money is debit money from your own account; credit card payments are banned for GRAI licensees since 5 February 2026.
Does 22BET accept bank transfer?
Payment options differ by country and change over time, so open the 22BET cashier after you register and check what Irish accounts get. Its cashier includes cards, e-wallets and crypto, and new players get +250% on your deposit under the terms on its site.
